Meet our School Administrators
Mrs. Katherine Dixon

Blaney Wildcats are "Teeing Up for A Winning Year" and I am honored to start my second year as principal. I am committed to serving the students, faculty, and families in the heart of Elgin. Our vision is to nurture character, achievement, teamwork and success in all students. My career in education began in the classroom, where I taught grades 3 through 5 for 12 years. I was a Reading Coach for one year and served nine years as an assistant principal at Lugoff Elementary School. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s in Teaching, and a Master’s in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina. I am a proud mother to four children and three granddaughters. My favorite days are spent on the beach and cheering on the Clemson Tigers! I am looking forward to the 25-26 school year because our Wildcats are "On Par for Greatness!"

I am elated to serve as the Assistant Principal at Blaney Elementary School! I am committed to building and fostering positive relationships, not only within my school building, but with all stakeholders. I was a classroom teacher for 11 years in grades 3-5. I have worked in Orangeburg Consolidated School District 5, Lexington Two, Richland 2, and Richland One where I began my Administration journey. I am a native of Spartanburg County and a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina where I earned my Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Master's in Educational Administration. I also am a proud graduate of Clemson University with a Master's in Literacy with a focus in ESOL. I am married and I have 2 beautiful children. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling (the beach is my happy place), and watching tv. Our most favorite time of the year is football season! I am so excited to embark on the 2024-2025 school year in the "Heart of Elgin."
